Old Navy Dress (Literally)

I gave a tour yesterday at FIDM. I was running late and had to throw myself together. Luckily this dress didn't need ironing so it was the winner. I love this dress. It's vintage and fits really well. I got it at Goodwill for about $8.00.

By the way, I'm trying to learn more about photography. I always love the fashion blogs that have beautiful pictures. I just have a point-and-shoot camera and even though I have Photoshop on my computer, I haven't learned it yet. I do use Picassa 3 which is a free download and now they have Picnik included. That has some cool effects and many of them are free. You have the option to upgrade to Premium for more choices.

Here's the photo from above with the outlet removed with the Picassa Retouch tool. Then I used the Cross Process tool from Picnik.

For the version below, I added Film Grain. Fun, huh? It's so easy and what's better than free?

Pam at over50feeling40 is doing a great series of foundational dressing categories. I tend to blend (1)Classic with (2)Artistic or (3)Glamorous (not one of her 5 but one of mine) Also, I love (4)Vintage and Retro so that tends to show up a lot, too. So that's 4 for me right off the bat. I think my fifth one would be (5)Edgy or something. There's still a little bit of the Punk Rock fashion rebel in there somewhere.

  3. I love to thrift and more than half of my closet is from thrift stores and Salvation Army stores.
Really like the changes in the photos background.

  4. I haven't been lucky enough to discover a thrift store here in my town that carries vintage. And as heavy as I am, there isn't much out there. You, on the other hand, rock that dress and the shoes are terrific. Way to go!
